Veterinary Receptionist/CSR

We are looking for a fun, dynamic, mature, Veterinary Receptionist or CSR for our Emergency Hospital in Orcutt. Animal Experience is a plus, but willing to train the right person!

Job Summary:

Veterinary emergency medicine is a rigorous and extremely rewarding field. The Customer Service Representative needs to be people and pet oriented, a team player, responsible, reliable, have a flexible schedule, excellent oral and written communication skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, be able to maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations and offer amazing customer service to every client. The position can be full-time or part-time.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Greet customers, log details into computer system and arrange for treatment of pets by the veterinary team;

Calculate treatment costs and collect payment for services rendered upfront;

Process payments and provide receipts for customers;

Maintain fluid communication with the veterinary team and customers at all times to ensure that customers are aware of their pets’ treatment, diagnosis and prognosis during the treatment and after-care time periods;

Provide exemplary customer service and maintain a calm demeanor when dealing with customers and pets.

Qualifications:

Previous administrative customer service experience within a veterinary, medical, dental, or similar facility is a plus;

Computer savvy and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products;

Exemplary oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Astute organizational, time management, multi-tasking, attention to detail and follow-through skills;

Ability to work effectively within a team environment and be flexible in changing direction quickly when required;

Other duties as assigned.

Working Hours:

Most of the shifts will be nights and swing, including weekends and holidays on either a full-time, or part-time basis. Full or part time available. Shifts vary from morning, swing to overnight. Requires one weekend day. Could include holidays

Compensation:

$17.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending upon experience, plus a per hour differential for swing and overnight shifts.
